Incross-culturalcommunication,miscommunicationormisunderstandingisacommonphenomenonbecausepeoplefromdifferentbackgroundshavedifferentrulesofspeechactsandculturalconventions.Inordertoovercomethedifficultiesofmis-communicationandimproveeffectivecross-culturalcommunication,moreresearchisneededtostudythespeechactsfromculturetoculture.Inthispaper,theauthormainlystudiesthreepatternsofspeechactsstudiedbypreviousresearchers,includingapology,greeting,andcompliment,discusseswhatpreviousresearchersstudiedonthethreespeechactsincross-culturalcommunication,andthenanalyzesthemwithrealexamplesincross-culturalcommunication.
